A Farmhouse Kitchen Renovation- Part 3

We have in our new counters and sink!

The guys that installed our new quartz countertops had to place shims along the way to level them out.  They were about an inch off from one side to the other.  That is something we expected out of our 90+ year old house.

We will need to add some trim to bridge the gap between the cabinets and countertops.

We hired my cousin to build a special shelf to support the 105 pound Ikea farmhouse sink.  He also had to rebuild the cabinet doors, since they were too tall for the apron front.  We still need to do a little adjusting so the hardware lines up.

We still need to install a backsplash, refinish the hard wood floors, build in the refrigerator, paint the cabinets and add new hardware before our renovation will be complete.

I am thinking I may go with a light gray color on the cabinets, after seeing the countertops in person.  They just don't look right next to the cabinets in their current color.

I also want to change the hardware and paint all the exposed hinges black.

We are thinking about going with a white beadboard backsplash like this one from Farmhouse 5540

We are moving along, but there is still a lot of work to do!
