My girls first found out about the little orphan Annie after hearing a few songs from the soundtrack on Pandora. Long before they ever actually saw the movie they knew all the songs by heart and had spent many mornings having dance parties to "You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile" and "It's the Hard Knock Life."
When I asked what they wanted for their birthday party this year an Annie theme was an obvious choice.
I was expecting Frozen, Strawberry Shortcake or LaLa Loopsy, but the Annie idea sounded like a bit of a challenge. We weren't going to walk into the party store, find the Annie section and be done with the decorations.
The girls decided they would need Annie dresses, so that was my first order of business. I picked up some red and white fabric and got to sewing. I did the collar just like you would do a Peter Pan collar, but made it a little more pointy.
My aunt made the adorable Annie dress cakes. I just loved the heart shaped lockets!
We added in some red accents and treat bags.
Turns out the girls picked a pretty adorable party theme!
