Every night, when the kids are finally tucked in bed, my sweet tooth starts to call my name.
If you’ve been around for a short while, you may know that we love to fuel our bodies with healthy whole foods, and we try to use unrefined sugars as much as possible.
So when you have a hankering for something a little sweet and chocolatey, yet healthy, I highly suggest these chocolate superfood bars.
Thanks to Cacao Bliss, these bars contain superfoods like turmeric, black pepper, cinnamon, prebiotics, MCT powder, mesquite, and much more.
Not only are they delicious, but since these bars are packed with healthy fats, they will help you stay fuller longer and satisfy that sweet tooth.
These keep amazingly well in the fridge, making for a fast and simple grab-and-go treat. Pop them into the kids’ (or yours) lunch boxes for a sweet afternoon treat.
Tips For Making Superfood Bars:
- Line your pan with parchment paper to make removing and slicing super easy.
- You can use regular shredded coconut or, for extra flavor, toast the shredded coconut before adding it to the bars.
- Create a double boiler by adding a few inches of water to a sauce pan, then placing a slightly larger glass or metal bowl over the saucepan. This will help melt the ingredients with less of a chance of burning them.
- For extra nutrition and texture, you could also top these superfood bars with nuts, seeds, or dried fruit.
How To Make Superfood Bars:
Toast coconut in a cast iron skillet over medium heat. Stir constantly until coconut turns golden. Turn off heat.
Melt ingredients over double boiler.
Once melted, combine ingredients together with an immersion blender. (A regular blender will also work. If you skip this step, the honey will sink to the bottom during cooling.)
Pour into a parchment lined 8×8 baking dish.
Add half of the toasted coconut while still liquid, and stir.
Refrigerate until almost completely cooled.
Top with the rest of the shredded coconut.
Chill in the refrigerator until completely hardened.
Cut and serve.

These bars look delicious! What kind of coconut oil do you use? Yours seems so come out much easier than the brand I am currently using.
