Grocery Haul Healthy | Large Family Grocery Shopping | ALDI
Welcome to my first ever grocery haul on the blog!
I have been asked by so many people to do one of these videos, but the logistics are a bit tricky. Get home from the grocery store with a whole bunch of stuff that needs to go in the refrigerator. Get out the camera, lights and mic to talk about the groceries while the kids are all begging for lunch.
We figured it all out, but this is why I don’t do these videos all the time. Haha.
As a large family of 7, we buy a lot of food. I buy most everything at Aldi, for the convenience of only going one place and the super low prices.

I find myself buying the same things over and over again. I love that stores like Aldi, and Trader Joe’s, have so few options. There are hardly any brands. If you want oatmeal, you just grab the one kind of oatmeal they have. It makes it simple, fast and CHEAP.
Here are some of the videos and recipes I referenced in the video

Thanks for posting this. I must say I rate you for doing the video with your daughter, I have 4 children and everytime I think of posting a grocery haul video….I choose life??. I started shopping at Aldi too and now that I am trying to be more intentional about eating healthy, I’m finding it challenging to stay on budget when I pick up organic food?. If you dont mind me asking how much do you spend weekly on your hauls? We are currently spending £100 a week for 2adults and 4 children. We live in the U.K. Thanks again for sharing.

Haha yes! People love grocery hauls, but they have kind of a logistical problem. I don’t pay super close attention, but I would guess we spend about $200 USD per week.

Love this! I buy the same things too for the most part, however, I recently moved to another state and it threw off my groove. I haven’t been able to find the cheese I was buying, so I have had to make do with regular cheese.
I usually buy goat milk kefir since I tried to rehydrate some milk kefir grains, but they never seemed to balance out and I ended up throwing them in the garbage. A lot of wasted expensive organic milk and the grains weren’t cheap either, so now I just buy it and I find I like the goat milk kefir better, it’s not quite so sour.
I get rice since my family doesn’t enjoy quinoa, and a couple kinds of pasta. I also buy flour tortillas by Stacy’s, they have the cleanest ingredient list I have found for tortillas.
I get organic apples whenever they are on sale. I also get fresh organic broccoli when it’s on sale.
I always have frozen organic green beans, peas, corn, blueberries, and cherries from Costco in my freezer too. Otherwise, I get what you get. Haha. Potatoes, onions, bananas, chips, salsa, beef, chicken, yogurt, sour cream, herbs, strawberries, eggs, milk, cream, butter and oats. With the exception of coffee.
It’s fun to see commonalities in other families, I feel like we have lost that somewhere between the 1950’s and the 1980’s. People have such varied habits and traditions now, it’s comforting to know that some things are still similar in some households.

It is so nice to “meet” like-minded individuals on the internet! 🙂 I can imagine moving to a new location would be really difficult to adjust to. I could probably go into my Aldi blind-folded at this point and come out with my usual haul. Haha. Sounds like I need to check out Costco. So many people recommended it to me!

Kind of wish we had an Aldi closer. Everyone raves about it! But honestly, I looked at the sale ad prices online and didn’t see better deals than what I get at HEB and Sprouts. So maybe I’m not missing much. I think the hour+ drive would only be worth it if the prices were WAY lower. The simplicity of the store sounds nice, but I just can’t justify driving that far in a direction I never go. I don’t enjoy driving. I stick close to home, unless we’re going on a trip. lol.

Ohhh! Can you please share more about this ground beef/zucchini/pasta sauce idea? What else do you put in? Sounds yummy and simple 🙂

Hello!
Great video! When did Aldi become so nice!? They used to have so much out of date cheap cheap stuff a few years ago. Like an outlet grocery store. I’m glad they cleaned their act up! How would you say Aldi’s selection of organic foods is compared to other grocery stores?

I appreciated what we did here. I enjoyed every little bit some of it. I am always trying to find informative information this way. Thanks for sharing around.

Enjoyed your video. Stumbled upon it on Facebook.
We love Aldi and like you have a TJs about an hour away. Go as often as I can.
I do have a question. You seem to but local things. Why buy Aldi ground beef? Wouldn’t it be wise to buy part of a beef? That’s what we do here in VA.
Aldi ground is from other countries and a combo of countries! After some reviews I was too concerned to buy. What is your experience? You mentioned buying several at a time.
