Hello! I am so excited to be visiting here today. Isn’t Lisa the best? I have been lucky enough to meet her in person. Not only is she adorable, she is incredibly talented and makes everything look so easy. I adore her easy, breezy farmhouse style. That striped dress she recently made almost makes me wish I could sew!

Let me introduce myself a little. I have been married for 18 years to my college sweetheart and we have 4 boys. After living a few different places, we ended up back in my hometown. I love small towns! We live in a 1938 cottage style home. My blog, Stacy Risenmay, is mostly about DIYing our way through home renovations and decorating. I throw in some recipes, gardening, and kid activities as well.

We live in town but are blessed to have a large yard. Our garden has more square footage than our house. I grow everything from artichokes to zucchini. It is my therapy! I have been a little mia on my blog lately because most of my time has been spent canning all the produce.

I do lots of room makeovers but my favorite kind of space to do is a kids room. I recently redid both boy rooms in our house. This mountain themed room was the most recent. The whole space is so fun but I especially love the L shaped beds!

There’s room for a fort underneath to store all their treasures.

Our dining room may be small, in fact it is really just an eat-in-kitchen nook, but all six of us fit around the table with room to spare and it is a bright and cheerful space. Since the space is not your usual dining room size, I built the top of our table so that we all fit, but that it wouldn’t overwhelm the space. Building a table or table top is easier than you might think!

I love our little kitchen! I decided to take down some of our upper cabinets and put up these DIY corner open shelves. There is another set on the other side of the sink. It has really opened up the space! People always ask about dust. I don’t mind wiping them down once a week since I would wipe down the cabinet doors once a week as well.

Our family room is sunny no matter what time of day. It is my favorite room in the house! I recently bought a new sofa after years of searching. I also added a new gallery wall this spring featuring our past summer vacations. I like to change up the gallery wall a few times a year.

I LOVE plants. My kids call me the crazy plant lady. I even made a terrarium lamp! Yep, I have plants everywhere 🙂

Our big summer project was installing this paver patio. I also had to come up with a way to hide the large electrical boxes on the back of our house. I built this sliding wall with planters! It easily glides out of the way when you need to access the electrical.

Thank you for letting me share a little bit of our home with you today. I hope you will check out my blog for even more! I have a lot of big things in the works like our curb appeal makeover, a chicken coop makeover, and our new shower/tub reveal.

Have a great day!
