Just like everything in my home decor here at the farmhouse, I like to keep the Christmas front porch simple. Just a few key pieces and plenty of natural accents.

I picked up a few red lanterns from the Trisha Yearwood Home Holiday Collectionย exclusively at Tractor Supply. I like that they are red, but not super bright. They also have a bit of a distressed look to them. They look so pretty on the porch with a few cozy mason jar candles.

I also grabbed a Trisha Yearwood Home Wood and Galvanized Basket. I like that it is neutral, sturdy and fits in well with my vintage galvanized planters that I have in the front landscaping. I just filled them with some firewood kindling and greenery for a simple farmhouse Christmas vignette.

These items are sold exclusively at Tractor Supplyย both in-store and online.

How to Create a Simple Farmhouse Christmas Front Porch

  1. Keep it cozy. Add in knit blankets, quilts, flannel and grain sack fabrics. The goal is textiles that have heavy textures that are warm for the cooler months. Candles in lanterns also make the porch feel warmer.
  2. Add natural elements. Greenery wreaths, firewood and pinecones are perfect additions for the winter/Christmas season.
  3. Keep the palette mostly neutral with black, white and wood for the base. You can’t go wrong with these three year round. Layer on a little more color in the accents. They go well with anything!
  4. Add accents in traditional Christmas colors. A touch of red and green look pretty all winter long.

Seasonal decor doesn’t need to be fussy or hard. As a busy mom of five, I simply do not have time to do anything but simple Christmas decor.

We go to Tractor Supply once a week for duck feed, goat feed and food for all of our pets. I love their selection of Christmas ornaments this time of year. I especially love the sheep. I too make rag ball ornaments, pinecone ornaments and have vintage cookie cutters that I have used on my tree and hung on string in my window. I like to dry oranges and wrap old ornaments in muslin and tie with a ribbon. I love simple and pretty.

I never thought of shopping at Tractor Supply for decor. I like the simple approach to Holiday decorating and the distressed look of those lanterns is perfect.
