Sourdough Cranberry  Bread

Sourdough cranberry bread starts with a sweet banana bread batter and is flavored with orange and cranberries. This moist and delicious quick bread makes the perfect holiday or weekend breakfast.

Simple Ingredients

– spelt flour (or all-purpose flour) – baking soda – baking powder – grey unrefined salt – cranberries – optional: chopped nuts – bananas – large eggs – maple syrup – stirred sourdough starter – butter – dark brown sugar – orange zest – orange juice

How To Make Sourdough Cranberry Bread

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9×5 loaf pan with butter. 2. Combine dry ingredients in a medium sized bowl.   3. Mix wet ingredients  together until well combined.

4. Fold in dry ingredients in to the wet ingredients a bit at a time until just incorporated, then mix in the cranberries. 5. Pour into a greased pan and top with a few sliced cranberries. 6. Generously dust coconut sugar or brown sugar on top of the loaf.

7. Bake for 60 to 65 minutes. Test bread at 55 minutes with a toothpick or cake tester.  8. Allow to cool in the loaf pan for one hour. Enjoy!
