Sourdough Garlic Bread

Sourdough garlic bread starts with homemade French bread, then it’s loaded with a garlic herb butter, topped with cheese, and baked until bubbly.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf sourdough French bread
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 3 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Prepare and bake sourdough French bread recipe.
  • Allow the bread to cool.
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • In a small bowl, add softened butter.
  • Add olive oil, salt, minced garlic (highly recommend a garlic press), and parsley. Mix together until well combined.
  • Slice the sourdough French bread in half, lengthwise, and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Generously spread the bread with the garlic herb butter.
  • Sprinkle with parmesan.
  • Place in the oven and bake for about 10 minutes.
  • Slice and serve.

Notes

  • Feel free to substitute homemade sourdough bread with store-bought if you’re pinched for time.
  • Try other combinations of herbs.
  • If you don’t have fresh herbs on hand, substitute them for dried.
