Learn how to make homemade iced lavender latte with all natural and healthy ingredients. It is absolutely delicious AND I feel great about everything in this drink.
A Simple, Delicious Idea
I love coffee in all forms, but that perfect iced latte is the stuff that makes me want to shell out five bucks at the coffee shop.
But, with all that added sugar, and a questionable milk source, I don’t think it’s a good habit to get into.
Plus, I love the idea of playing around with the ingredients and making some exciting combinations that you won’t see at Starbucks.
Lately, as I have been marveling over all the culinary uses of essential oils, a thought popped in my head.
I bet lavender would compliment coffee wonderfully, in a coffee latte drink.
I’m so glad I tried it!
It is absolutely delicious AND I feel great about everything in this drink.
A Word on the Ingredients
I am using milk that has been locally sourced and grass fed. It has all the health benefits of raw milk, with all the enzymes and probiotics still intact. (If you can’t tolerate dairy, or have no good milk source, you can substitute the milk portion of this recipe with coconut milk or almond milk.)
And for the sweetener, I am using honey that I purchased from a local farm.
I love it when I can look at my food and pronounce the four or five whole food ingredients that are in it.
Homemade Iced Lavender Latte Ingredients
1 cup freshly ground coffee beans
3 cups filtered water
2 tablespoons honey
ice
mason jar
milk of your choice (cow’s milk, coconut milk, and almond milk)
lavender essential oil of a certified pure therapeutic grade ( I use doTERRA)
Homemade Iced Lavender Latte Instructions
Coffee First
First, to make the strong cold brewed coffee, add the freshly ground coffee beans and 3 cups of filtered water to a French press, or quart size mason jar.
After the coffee has steeped for 12-24 hours, strain off the coffee grinds.
If you don’t have a French press, you can strain the coffee grinds through clean tea towel over a large bowl.
Iced Lavender Latte
For the iced lavender latte, fill a quart size mason jar with ice.
Add two tablespoons honey to a small saucepan with a quarter cup of coffee.
I like to dissolve the honey in just a small amount of liquid so it can incorporate more easily. If you skip this step, the honey just sinks to the bottom, and doesn’t sweeten the whole drink.
Fill the mason jar about halfway with the cold brewed coffee.
Next, add in the warm honey and coffee mixture.
Fill the jar the rest of the way up with your milk of choice.
We use raw milk from a local farm. It’s full fat, creamy and delicious! I have to shake it up first, so I don’t get only cream, since it isn’t homogenized.
You could also substitute coconut milk or almond milk.
Add toothpick dip of lavender essential oil.
To do this, stick a toothpick into the bottle of lavender essential oil, pull it out and dip into the mason jar with the iced latte.
Since essential oils are so strong, you will have way too much lavender flavor if you start pouring in the bottle of oil.
If you find one toothpick dip isn’t strong enough, add another. I find that one whole drop is way too strong.
Make sure to only use Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade oils. Cheap brands from Walmart aren’t safe to ingest.
I ended up sharing my iced lavender latte with the hubby, so I poured it into two pint size mason jars.
Give it all a little stir, stick your straw in, and enjoy!

Hello Lisa,
I found you over on the youtube land, and have fallen in love with your style. I am a homeschooling mom of 4 small children, ages 8 years-5 months, and live a similar lifestyle here in Illinois. I get the impression that you may live close by and I am in search of a good raw milk source. I have gotten some from 3 different farms, and for different reasons, I am not currently using them. Could you tell me where you get your milk from? I have some heavy cream on hand though and plan to try this out. Thank you. – Jackie
Lisa says
Hi Jackie! Sounds like you have a very similar crew as me. š We do live pretty nearby. I will email you with the milk source.

I love homemade iced latte. I’m going to try adding lavender. Thanks for sharing the idea! I made lavender lemonade last summer, and it was really good. I’ve also made lavender cake, but the family wasn’t crazy about it.
Your blog and your home are beautiful! I’m glad I found my way over here from Pinterest.

I’m not a coffee drinker. Have you tried this with a strong black tea? what do you think?
Lisa C. says
Hi Lisa,
I wanted to make this for a few friends coming over for dinner. However, I just saw that you have to let the coffee steep for 12 hours so I guess I will have to try this another time. Iām new to using a French press. Will it still taste good if I let it steep for a shorter amount of time? Would 5 min. be way too short? Thank you,
Lisa C.
Lisa says
Hi Lisa! Yes you could steep for a shorter time it will just be weaker coffee. I would suggest using a bolder strong coffee if doing so.

Hi.Lisa! Just getting into the essential oil āthingā. Iāve always liked doing natural and healthy stuff. Was diagnosed with Celiac/gluten several years ago, probably had it a lot longer (misdiagnosedš¬), so; really watch what I eat. Daughter has had worst symptoms than I (sheās dairy intolerant severely), but she never been officially diagnosed. After going to see a nutritionist that suffered from the same (thatās why she became what she is), she really cares and has helped us immensely! I also see a endocrinologist for my thyroid, so you see why Iām always searching for ānaturalā ways of doing things. We make our own furniture cleaning oil, use lots of baking soda, vinegar and am getting ready to make my own laundry detergent. I think that I saw that you live in Troy, Missouri? I use to work in Troy (Lincoln County School District), but we live in Bowling Green. I have just ordered a starter kit from Revive (that was before I came across your blog). I did my research, read reviews; so I went with Reviveā¦your thoughts? Thanks for the recipe for Lavender Latte, I donāt own a French Press, but I may have to n est in one!šš. Lover of āanythingā coffee!
Lisa says
I haven’t personally heard of Revive. You’ll have to let us know how you like them!
