Neutral fabric - you only need a little bit. I used some leftover grain-sack fabric I had on hand/
Ribbon
Embellishments - I used faux greenery and some bells.
Instructions
Laying the sweater down, cut a 5 inch by 5 inch piece of the sweater. I made sure it was on a pretty part of the sweater that layed nicely.
Cut another 5 inch by 5 inch piece of scrap grain sack fabric.
Lay the inside of the embroidery hoop down and place the grain sack fabric down, then place the sweater piece down on top.
Unscrewing the outside part of the embroidery hoop as much as possible, place the outside ring on top of the sweater piece, fabric, and interior hoop and press down.
Tighten the screw to make sure it is secure.
Add your embellishments.
Next, take some ribbon and tie a loop around the metal screw to act as a loop to hang the ornament on the tree.
Cut other piece of ribbon and thread a bell or ornament through it.
Add a piece of greenery through the bell loop as well and pull the ribbon through the top of the embroidery hoop and tie a knot in it. You could secure the greenery with a little bit of hot glue if you would like.
Notes
Make these from an old or thrifted sweater, or you could just use grain sack or another pretty fabric you have on hand.
These would not only make beautiful tree ornaments, but also would be beautiful to add to a DIY Holiday Gift Basket.
Use bells, tiny ornaments, or other beautiful greenery or embellishments to make these ornaments festive. They can easily be transformed to match any decor or style.
