Crunchy, delicious, homemade gluten free croutons are a tasty way to top a salad. Making your own croutons is super easy and is a great way to use up old or stale bread.
Make homemade gluten free bread first if desired. You can also use store-bought bread.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
Place bread on a cutting board and cut into 3/4 inch cubes with a knife.
Lay onto the baking sheet or into a large bowl.
Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and spices.
Mix well to combine and evenly coat the bread cubes with oil and seasonings.
Spread evenly on the parchment lined baking sheet in a single layer.
Bake for 15-20 minutes. The edges should start to turn a little golden brown.
Notes
You can use any kind of bread. Homemade or store-bought bread will work for this recipe. Stale and fresh bread will also work.
For this recipe, I love the flavor olive oil adds. You could also substitute with melted butter or avocado oil.
Use your leftover croutons to top a casserole for extra flavor and crunch.
Store leftover croutons in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. A glass jar or zip-lock bag works well. You can also freeze them for up to two months.
