A recipe perfect for fall weather
There is just something about sipping a cozy spiced tea on a cool autumn evening or blustery winter day. We are finally getting some cooler weather, so it is now time to pull out my favorite fall recipes.
I have not made this recipe in a while and remaking it, I remembered how good this recipe tastes. This pumpkin spice rooibos teas is one of my families favorites.
We love to make it right after nap time for a sweet and delicious pick me up drink. My kids ask for rooibos tea often, and love the special way I make it.
I love rooibos, because it is a naturally caffeine free herb with a sweet, fruity flavor. I pair it with cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, cardamom and vanilla. Although it’s not made like a traditional latte, this frothy drink is the perfect sweet treat when you just need a little something to warm you up.
What are the benefits rooibos?
Rooibos tea has a flora of benefits. According to Dr. Axe, “It’s packed with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, improves heart health, treats and may even prevent diabetes, may prevent cancer, aids in digestion, supports strong bones, helps you lose weight and achieve satiety, treats allergies, and keeps your skin and hair young.” You can read more about the benefits of rooibos tea HERE.
A word on the other ingredients
This pumpkin spice rooibos latte is full of healthy, nutritious ingredients. To make this recipe with the best ingredients, you want to make sure they are unprocessed and in their raw form. Usually, that means raw, unprocessed, and organic.
Coconut oil and butter are filled with good fats. Make sure to buy organic, unrefined coconut oil and 100% grass butter.
Raw honey is filled with vitamins and minerals. Unless the honey jar says “raw” it is probably processed and does not contain all the the minerals and vitamins raw honey has.
You also do not want to use imitation vanilla extract. Stone mill vanilla extract is 100% pure or you can make it yourself with this recipe.
Pumpkin is naturally filled with vitamins and minerals. It is best to make your own pumpkin puree to get all the nutrient available, but organic, canned pumpkin is fine as well.
As you might guess, you also will want to buy your spices organic. Not only will you food have more flavor, but it will also be pesticide-free as well.
I usually shop for my ingredients at Aldi’s, Trader Joes, and Amazon.

This looks and sounds yummy! With being 19 weeks pregnant and wanting to drink something in the late afternoon, I don’t want to go crazy on the caffeine. The first trimester I dropped coffee cold turkey because of morning sickness. I think I’m hooked on drinking rooibos tea instead of relying on coffee alone.
Crystal says
This is really yummy! Next time I’ll make it with almond milk instead of water though.

When you are telling about the tea and making it on your video yours looks ground already but on the list to buy its in leaf form how do you know how much to do if it’s not ground and in leaf form. Thanks
Lisa says
The one I use in the video is the loose leaf. 🙂
